A brilliant idea turned successful business

Published by under Business

My sister lives in a home that was built in the early 1900′s before air conditioning was a common household luxury. As air conditioning became more common, many homes in her neighborhood switched to air conditioning wall units. These units were bulky and not designed to be placed in a window, but rather installed directly into the wall. This required that a hole be created directly in the wall to allow for the new unit. As times have changed and more people in her neighborhood upgraded to central air conditioning units, a dilemma presented itself. What should be done with the the hole in the wall left over from the removal of the old unit? This dilemma ended up creating a successful business for my sister, who now, as an artist, creates beautiful stained glass window art to be installed in the leftover hole from the old unit.

Almost Fell For It

Published by under Property

If I didn’t know better, I’d say he was stalking me. I ran into this sales person time and time again. First at the market then at the store, it was getting pretty weird. Every time he see me he’d always try to sell me hurricane insurance. Now I live in Southern Texas so I understand that hurricanes are apart of our weather. But after reading over the brochure he gave me, it seemed as though the only thing of value they offered, was free sand bags every year. The storms never caused devastation here on the gulf of mexico. But he insisted that I would need it. The last hurricane, knocked out a few power lines and destroyed minimum property. I think I’ll pass on the hurricane insurance, I told him. The next day, his picture was on the news as one of the biggest scam artist of the year. I was so grateful for my spirit of discernment.

My Kitchen Island

Published by under Furniture

The kitchen after remodeling had an island which was in desperate need of some bar stools. Finding the perfectly right one can take time. I started with just some regular stools and decided that they just did not give my kitchen the right look so I bought some nice large fancy ones. They were nice but just a little too large as they took up too much room in my kitchen. So I took those out. For a while my kitchen had no stools at all then I started looking again. I bought some regular stools again and then got to thinking they looked a lot like the first ones I had bought. Come to find out they were the same ones only in a lighter color. I decided to keep these when I realized the kids could move them to get their own glasses of water.

Car Restoration

Published by under Cars

Like many people, I work a lot of hours every week in my office job. My job as an accountant pays the bills for my family, but it is not my true passion. My favorite thing to do is spending time in my garage restoring classic cars.

Some people think that you have to be rich to get involved in car restoration, but this is not true. I do not always have a lot of time and money to devote to my projects, so I just work on my cars a little bit at a time. For instance, I saved for three months to buy the alloy wheels that I wanted. Now, I am saving for new exterior paint.

Restoring cars is both relaxing and exciting to me. I think that it is important for my mental health to have a hobby that allows me to unwind after a stressful day at work.

The city is gorgeous

Published by under Tourism

I have always wanted to go to Germany. I being from German descent wanted to experience the German culture first hand. I started off planning my trip by researching the city I knew I would be spending my time in, Stuttgart, Germany. I looked at many Stuttgart hotels, some were 2 stars, some were 3 stars, and some were 4 and 5 stars. I decided to stay at the Martim Hotel, which is a five star resort. It also had access to an ice skating rink and other tourist attractions. When looking around at the city, the city is so gorgeous. There are buildings that are so old they appear to be like castles from mid-evil times. There are modern building as well that are so progressive that they will amaze you. The city, the hotels, and the people in Germany will amaze and captivate you.

My House is Now Complete

Published by under Home Improvement

My husband and I purchased an older home and wanted to renovate the kitchen, bathrooms, and repaint throughout. We worked for three months fixing the place up, and decided to get blinds also. Buying the kitchen cabinets and flooring was more expensive than we had anticipated. The bathrooms needed less than we had estimated, so we saved money in those two rooms. Finding good blinds Manchester was not as hard as we thought. Once we had installed the blinds, the house was complete and looked almost new. As a finishing touch we took out all the old bushes in the front and completely re-landscaped the yard. The landscaping was hard work, but the curb appeal of the house was completely updated. Several neighbors even commented that they barely recognized the house.

Changing The Way I Date

Published by under Dating

I have had my share of bad relationships. My experiences have been so bad that I have even contemplated giving up on love forever. However, I soon realized that giving up on love forever would not be a wise solution. Last week, I decided that I was tired of sitting home alone every Friday and Saturday. I decided that I was going to make a change. I signed up for an online dating christians site.

I was always one who was against meeting people on the Internet. Now, I see why it has become so popular. The thing that I like most about romance websites is that they allow you to get to know the person before you meet face to face. You also get to see if you and a potential partner have similar interests. I am so glad that I signed up for this website because I have already browsed some interesting people.

How disappointing

Published by under Dating

After trying several Glasgow dating websites, I discovered that you can really never be sure what to expect from people. I began by sending corresponding to several people through email. We each sent pictures and decided if there was a mutual attraction. Finally, I sent contact information to one person. One of the things I realized right away was that traveling to see the person for the first time would be a challenge.

I don’t drive, and the individual who I was meeting lived in a different city that was about forty miles away. Undeterred, I arranged for a friend to provide me with transportation. When I reached my destination, I called the person I was there to meet. I waited for several hours, and I didn’t receive a reply. After an inordinate amount of time, the woman called and cancelled. Dates arranged through the internet can definitely sometimes be disappointing.

Taking Back Control!

Published by under Old Age

I never thought I would see the day when an active fifty-five year like myself would wear incontinence pads. I have always know about diabetes in my family and have always taken steps to avoid. And when I was told by my doctor that I suffer from urinary incontinence. I was floored!

What?! I kept shouting at him. A little trickle of pee and I’m incontinent? I refused to accept the idea and with the steely determination that I’ve always had. I foolishly tried take control of something I no longer had control over.

It has been one year to the day since I started using these pads on a regular basis. And to honest I forget its even there. At first, my pride took a beating with the self-image I had of myself. But with age comes wisdom and these pads are not the enemy. It actually allows me to go with my active life-style.
